Apple AR Smart Glasses Might Debut This March

Apple AR smart glasses are already on its way of development, and finally, it might launch in March 2017. Apple is working with optical manufacturer Carl Zeiss on this pair of AR smart glasses. In our previous article, we already mentioned that Apple was working with Carl Zeiss for the AR smart glasses in iPhone 8 and in-car smart glass facilities.

It looks like this is going to come true finally! Renowned Tech journalist Robert Scoble predicted that the company is planning to launch an AR headset in partnership with Carl Zeiss. He also mentioned the sources at “highest levels” have confirmed that a pair of smart glasses is in the way of development.

Here is what Tim Cook has to say

The Apple AR smart glasses might reveal with iPhone 8 in the 10th Anniversary of iPhone in September. It might also coincide with Apple’s spaceship headquarters opening in September 2017. Apple CEO Tim Cook already gave many hints while exploring the AR headset market in India. Last year, he said,

We are high on AR for the long run… We think there’s a great thing for customers and a great commercial opportunity. So we’re investing.

Over the past few months, the company is discussing the potential of AR technology. While speaking with ABC News, he also said,

There’s virtual reality, and there’s augmented reality — both of these are incredibly exciting. But my view is that augmented reality is the larger of the two, probably by far.

Apple is already testing the Apple AR smart glasses

At present, Zeiss sells the VR One Plus. It is a headset that comprises of a user’s smartphone, and it can convert it into a VR or AR system. It is like the Samsung Gear or the Google Daydream. Apple is rumored to use the AR and VR technology that uses a heads up display with Siri integration. The test is done to check out the self-driving hardware supporting the software systems.

Apple is always looking to explore something new with technology. But a lot of these didn’t see the light of the day. Still, it is hard to ignore the number of leaks and rumors that come out regarding Apple AR smart glasses. Especially, when the company CEO itself is so much interested in AR.

If we go by the reports, Apple will already start to explore the AR from 2013. In 2013, Apple bought Primesense that created Microsoft’s Kinnect gaming system. The again, Apple in 2015 bought Metaio, the AR startup. As a final point, we already mentioned that Apple might bring the AR into iPhone 8 into the camera app. So let us wait and watch whether the company officials confirm us about the Apple AR smart glasses.
